So excited to finally be revealing the Byers project to y'all! It's truly a vision come to life. ((If you want to see all the plans and behind the scenes of this project, don't miss the Vision + the Progress post. And if you really want the juicy deets, head to my IG page @mollie.mason and scroll through the “Byers” story folder. All the little snippets of the process, beginning to end, are there!))
Watch the final walk through on IGTV:
No doubt this home just needed some curb appeal. I knew fresh paint on the siding and new windows and a new front door would make a great impact, but the shape itself was so square and cumbersome. Simply adding the A-frame above the porch made such a difference, didn't it? Add a little landscaping and it's fresh and gorgeous — definitely jumps out at you from the street!
Ok, this whole main living space area is where we really made the biggest difference in functionality to the home. We took out the nice but totally-in-the-way pantries that separated the kitchen which opened the whole up space so well. We also added the hallway from the left side of the house (see below) so that included rearranging the wall and openings.
You might have to check out the IG story highlight to fully get this one, but here we essentially made the massive bedroom smaller and created a hallway. The exterior door just didn't make a whole lot of sense inside a bedroom, and now. you. can park on the side of the house and head straight through the hallway into the kitchen/living room space. Again, it just makes sense.
Another thing to note here: we swapped out the exterior door for a new one with a window and it makes allll the difference. Without it, this hallway was a pit of darkness and now it's bright and open.
I'm all for a separate standing shower and tub, but in this bathroom, it just made no sense. Especially because the measly pedestal sink was just not cutting it. So we flipped the shower head over into the tub and turned the shower into a custom vanity space. The space just makes so much more sense now.
No crazy changes to the laundry room, just some fresh paint and new floor tile. Because sometimes that's all you need!
The master! A few simple changes and this was a major upgrade. We turned the back windows into French doors out onto the back deck. We turned one of the already big closets into an even bigger one and we took out a small one to make a much bigger bathroom. A dreamy heart-eye-worthy double-shower-head bathroom.
A custom maple vanity. A massive shower with two rainfall shower heads. The dreamiest marble tile and quartz countertops and matte black mixed with brushed brass. Such. A. Dreamy. Bathroom.
Gah I just love this home so much, and I hope y'all do too! xx, molls
Mollie this is so beautiful! You guys did it again. Another beautiful renovation!
Thank you so much, Jane! That means the world. It’s such a joy to share all our projects with you! xx
Hey mollie, just stumbled upon your Reno! It came out beautiful!! We just purchased out first home and I’ve been looking for soft white paint- Wondering if you would share the wall color you used in the living room? Thanks so much ❤️
Hi Meredith, thanks so much for your kind words and congrats on your new home! What a blessing – I pray you make many sweet memories inside those walls. The paint color on the walls in this home is Bit of Sugar by Behr. It’s actually a pretty bright white (you can see the trim looks more yellow) but I absolutely love it. I think it makes the place feel so big and bright without feeling cold or blueish.
Did you paint the ceilings the same Bits of Sugar color? Also, would you paint the trim the same color? Thank you so much!
Hi Judi, the ceiling is actually just White from Benjamin Moore.
This is absolutely gorgeous!!!! I’m dying to find a warm off-white for the cabinets in my pantry. What was the paint color you chose for the kitchen cabinets?
Thanks, Tara! I am totally obsessed with the cabinets as well. I searched hard for just the right shade and I love the way it turned out! It’s Behr’s Burnished Clay. If you use it, send me pictures!!
I am absolutely obsessed with your home! Every single thing is done to perfection. Where did you find the tile for the backsplash in the kitchen??
Thank you, Dalton! That means a lot! I’m so glad you can appreciate it as much as I can 🙂
This backsplash is from Floor & Decor! Love that they have quality product for great prices; We source almost all our tile and flooring from them.

It’s all gorgeous! Can you share more details on the exterior door? I love it.
Thank you! The front door was a craftsman wood door we sourced locally, but it’s a pretty standard look most door places should carry!
Hi. I love your home and touches. What is the backsplash in your kitchen?
Your renovation is beautiful! The kitchen is so light and bright! Would you be able to tell me what the countertop is? It’s just what I’ve been looking for.
Thanks so much, Kate. I’m so glad you love it! It’s a white quartz – very durable, we’ve loved it!
Hello! Beautiful job!! Where did you get the marble in the main shower bathroom? Is it real marble or is it ceramic / porcelain? Of course it is the one thing you didn’t link 🙂 thank you!!
Thanks, Victoria – so glad you love it! It’s not real marble – it’s a porcelain tile that looks like marble. We got it from Floor & Decor and I don’t think they carry the same exact tile but you can find similar, affordable options that they currently carry!
I just came across your bathroom on Pinterest. Can you tell me what size frames you have hanging?
