I can't even believe I'm getting to share our BREECH home birth story with you…
From being told we'd never be able to get pregnant, to conceiving naturally our 3rd month trying, to finding out I have a bicornuate uterus at 10 weeks and just praying we'd make it full term, to finding out baby was breech at 36 weeks…
It's safe to say everything about this pregnancy was a journey.
When we first got the confirmation that baby was breech, I felt such discouragement and despair, believing this meant my dreams of a natural home birth were out the window.
But praise the Lord for birth workers who believe in women and babies!
We prayed ceaselessly and the Lord gave us the peace we needed to proceed with our plans for a home birth, even with an upside-down baby.
We asked God for all of our greatest hopes for this birth and tried to hold them loosely. And man oh man did He show up in this experience.
No words can begin to capture the magic and power and intensity of this experience, so instead of trying to tell you, I'll just show you.
Watch our full birth vlog:
I've truly never felt more empowered than I did in these 3 hours of laboring inside our bedroom.
Even though, in so many ways, our birth was not what I pictured, it was still everything I dreamed it could be and everything I know the Lord wanted it to be.
Unfortunately though, as well as our birth went, I did have a post-birth complication that landed me in the hospital. I'm finally sharing the details of that, as well as everything that was going through my mind through this whole experience, in this part 2 video:
I share our story with the hope that it can encourage any woman out there who is questioning her birthing abilities.
If you're wondering if you can give birth unmedicated, you can!
If you're wondering if you can have a natural vaginal breech birth, you can!
You were made for this. You were made to be this baby's mama just as much as your body was made to birth your baby. And it will be worth it!
xx, Mollie
